Technology and Information Systems

The Technology and Information by Systems Services Division (TISS)
provides technology related leadership, coordination, resources, and support needed to achieve the District mission. The division's responsibilities include operating and supporting enterprise-wide information systems, managing local and wide area networks, deploying bond-funded technology to classrooms and labs, providing telephone and communication services, managing video conferencing systems and offering user help desk services. TISS is organized into the following units:

Central Information Systems

The Central Information Systems (CIS) department is part of the Clark County School District's Technology and Information Systems Services Division (TISS).

The CIS department is responsible for the enterprise-level server, storage, and database systems that are the foundation of district-wide student and business systems (e.g., SASI, SAP, Encore, Maximo, HealthMaster, HRMS, Read180, Payroll, CompassLearning, etc.). In addition, CIS provides software development services to provide district-level reporting, custom applications, and interfaces between vendor products and systems. Normal business hours are 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

Networking Services

Networking Services is responsible for providing networking support to the school district. This includes providing connectivity and support to over 317 district schools and administrative sites, all networking equipment such as servers, network printers, etc., as well as network security related activities.

School Technology Deployment Services

School Technology Deployment Services is responsible for the quality-assured integration of technology in the district's schools. This department performs project management and installation associated with networking over 326 district schools, from server to desktop. This includes equipment installation for both Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) communication and all levels of associated software.

User Support Services

User Support Services is responsible for providing desktop maintenance support for personal computer (PC) users throughout the district, utilizing district personnel and contracted services. This includes a Call Support Center that functions as a traditional Help Desk for the entire district for personal computer related trouble calls and dispatching onsite support for both hardware and software failure issues. Additionally, User Support provides hardware and software installation for administrative sites, special regional support, and general support for the district.
